Do you think I'm too much of a computer novice for the workshops?
Most folks that take these workshops are relatively new computer
users, so don't worry. You need only know the basics of using a
PC or Mac. That is, you should already be familiar with using a
mouse, opening and closing windows, and opening and saving files.
We'll be working in a PC lab, but Mac users will find that most
of what's covered is easily transferable to the Mac.
What should I bring to class with me?
Part I of this workshop will be taught at the Athenaeum School of
the Arts. You are encouraged to bring one or more pieces of your
artwork to class. For Part II of this workshop we will be using
a computer lab. The lab is supplied with a scanner, a printer, and
PCs running Photoshop. You do not need to bring any hardware
or software with you. However, you may want to bring a CD that
contains your digital images. Since this is an all-day session,
and since it is difficult to get to restaurants during the lunch
hour, you may want to bring a bag lunch.
I don't own a scanner or digital camera. Do I need to get one?
No, you don't need to own a scanner or digital camera to take these
workshops.
Should I buy a copy of Photoshop?
If you don't already own a copy of Photoshop, then no, please do
not buy a copy until after the class. We'll discuss the different
software programs that are available, and help you decide what is
right for you.
